Attention College Bigs!

Just a reminder....as you are winding down with your last weeks in Winston-Salem before summer remember to contact your case manager with summer plans! Also remember to talk to your Little about being gone for so long. Try to prepare them and give them as much notice as you can that you will be gone for an extended period of time. If possible try to keep in touch by phone, letters or email while you are away. If you are graduating this is especially hard for your Little so try to plan a special activity for the two of you on your last visit. Maybe decorate picture frames with a picture of the two of you in it or have a special dinner. If you can find a friend to take over your match after you leave that is great, so then your Little will not have to go back on our wait list. Kickball For Kids!

As you all may know (because we have emailed you twice about it!) this Saturday is our Annual Kickball For Kids at Wake Forest University. Every year a student group at Wake puts together this awesome event for the kids on our wait list and our matches. There will be a kickball tournament, crafts, games and of course lunch! This year it will be on the water tower field at WFU from 11-3. Let us know if you have any questions and call your case manager to RSVP.

Hello Bigs~this blog is for you! We tried this blog a few years ago and it didn't stick so we are giving it another try! We want this to be a resource for all of you for information, ideas, suggestions, and answers to your questions. Please use this blog to get information from us here at BBBS and also other Bigs. Feel free to post comments to our posts and also questions you may have for other volunteers about ideas or problems you are having. We will be checking the blog at least once a week and will try to answer your questions promptly. As always your case manager is the person to contact if you are having any problems with your match or have specific questions. Thanks so much for all you do and enjoy!
